We tell all our guests that we are a unique owner live-in B&B. I would like to set straight some of the misleading remarks and events the reviewer posted: 1. I am also puzzled by the remark that they felt unwanted and intruding since we always stopped and talked whenever I saw them and they had plenty of questions and requests. According to the reviewer, I had no interest or interaction with them, so I must be a really good psychic to have all the info about their whereabouts and details from their visit to Park Slope. There was also a conversation about a possible massage for the wife after the husband saw a massage table in one of the rooms. From our friendly chats I learned that they are here for a wedding, that they are from Monterrey California, that they stayed for 10 days in Manhattan with friends, that they had plans for dinner with Park Slope friends and we had a long conversation about where to buy cheese and pate for the diner party, they told me they had dinner at Two Boots Restaurant on the last night, and whenever I saw the wife, I asked about her well being, which she said how much she appreciated my concern. I am usually in the open kitchen area and available to guests during the day. During the four days they stayed here I saw the husband every morning when I was setting up the breakfast room at 8 am and whenever they left the house or came back we stopped to chat. After the couple settled in, the husband came down to chat and asked about neighborhood take outs he could get soup for his wife who was not feeling well. He is not involved in any B&B daily operations, but gladly helps whenever around.

BTW, my husband is 70 and has a full time job at Columbia university. They decided to bring the bags up and I helped. I suggested they leave the bags in the parlor until my husband returned from work to carry the bags up. They arrived at noon with quite a bit of luggage. They asked to arranged for an early check-in on Fri and I was able to accommodate their request.

They seemed to be very nice folks and I was glad to host them at my B&B/ house. I had the pleasure to meet the reviewer and his wife who stayed with us four nights in October. I would like the opportunity to challenge many inaccuracies and correct misconceptions and non facts the reviewer wrote. Yet, if the climb to the top not an issue and you are looking to stay in a quiet, comfortable, and reasonably priced place away from the crowds and noise of the city this is the place.…ĭear TripAdvisor, I am responding to a review, "Adequate could be so much better," posted by a guest who stayed at my B&B in October 2013. The only other thing to note which is stated on the website, the climb from the street to the 3rd floor bedrooms consists of about 50 steps, and there is no elevator or other handicap access (Hint: pack your travel items in two lighter suitcases than putting everything into one heavy one). Perfect, however, for adults (bedrooms can accommodate 2 couples).

Also, would not recommend this venue for families with young children because other than a TV in the rooms there are no activities the premises although Prospect Park is only about a block away. Thus if you desire and are expecting complete hotel-type amenities & services this would not be the place for you to stay. Only one set/group of guests are booked at the same time for the one or two bedrooms on the 3rd floor (with a bath and a half). In perusing some of the other reviews, particularly those with negative comments it should be remembered that this is a HOUSE and not a hotel. Very quiet and safe neighborhood about 3 blocks from the subway to Manhattan (about a 15-20 minute ride), and several restaurants, pubs & shopping nearby. There was yogurt, granola, cereal, pastries, milk, coffee and juice provided for a light jump start breakfast. The hosts/owners were friendly and accommodating although not at all intrusive. My wife, I, and adult son stayed here over a long weekend.
